Getting to Mykonos Town
from the airport
If you’re flying into Mykonos, there’s a convenient bus service that runs hourly from the airport to Mykonos Town. The best thing about it? For just €2.50, it’s a super budget-friendly option. Keep in mind that the bus can get crowded, so you might need to stand during the ride. However, the journey only takes about 10-15 minutes, making it still the preferred option for most travelers.
Also, taxis are available at the airport, in case you prefer a more comfortable and flexible option, While they are pricier than the bus, they’ll take you directly to your accommodation, which can be particularly helpful if you have a lot of luggage.
from the New Port
Arriving by ferry? You’ll arrive at the New Port, where you have a couple of options for getting to Mykonos Town. Taxis are readily available and provide the most convenience, especially if you have a lot of luggage.
On the other hand, for a more budget-friendly choice, consider taking the Sea Bus, which costs only €2.50 and will get you to the Old Port in about 10 minutes. Specifically, this is an excellent option if your accommodation is centrally located. For example, for us, it was just a 10-minute walk to our place near the iconic windmills, and it was manageable with a carry-on and backpack. However, if you have more baggage, a taxi might be the better choice for you.
